Access Cards - Proximity Cards

 

Proximity cards, (also known as access cards) are approximately the size and thickness of a credit card. Each card has a unique identity number that is associated with its user and stored in a centralized database.

An employee holds their card within a few inches of the reader; the card will continuously emit its unique identity which is then compared against the database of programmed card numbers to determine if access or egress should be granted.
